Center of Critical Education on Antisemitism (CCEA)
The Centre of Critical Education on Antisemitism (CCEA) researches and teaches how to deal with antisemitism in universities and schools as well as in extracurricular educational settings.
The Würzburg approach focusses on innovative teaching and learning designs for a structural didactics of critical education on antisemitism. This includes working on previous gaps, such as researching the teaching and learning barriers and resources of students and teachers at universities. The research at the prototype The Cerificate in Critical Education on Antisemitism for Teaching closes important gaps in the practice-theory relationship. In the process, critical education on antisemitism is developed and tested as an independent perspective in a contextualised manner. The processes gained here create a basis and quality criteria for the operationalisation of educational designs that are critical of antisemitism. They provide impulses for the transformation of institutional structures (studies, schools, training and further education).
All measures and projects are systematically evaluated in order to ensure their quality and impact in the long term. The Würzburg Centre sees itself as a hub that sustainably releases iterative processes for critical education on antisemitism for itself and others.
CCEA was founded in 2021 at the Faculty of Human Sciences.
