Centre of Critical Education on Antisemitism (CCEA)
The Centre of Critical Education on Antisemitism (CCEA) has been conducting research and teaching at the Faculty of Human Sciences since 2021 on how to address antisemitism in universities and schools, as well as in non-school educational settings.
We combine research, teaching and practice to effectively implement education critical of antisemitism:
-
Research:
We are investigating how antisemitism manifests itself in educational processes – and what conditions are needed to address and dismantle it in the long term. More about research at the CCEA -
Curriculum development:
We design innovative teaching and learning concepts that systematically promote thinking critical of antisemitism.
-
Practical programmes:
With formats such as "The Certificate in Critical Education on Antisemitism for Teaching (ZABUS)", we bridge the gap between theory and practical educational work. More about the additional studies -
Evaluation and quality assurance:
Our projects are continuously reviewed in order to establish effective long-term standards and quality criteria.
The CCEA takes a structural approach: education critical of antisemitism is understood not merely as a subject, but as a fundamental perspective for educational processes. In this context, we focus in particular on:
-
challenges and barriers in the teaching and learning process
-
the resources of learners and teachers
-
institutional frameworks in schools and higher education
How We Work as a Hub
The CCEA sees itself as a hub for critical education on antisemitism. The interplay between our key areas of work continually generates ideas for new forms of critical education on antisemitism, which we aim to promote:
Our CCEA Journal (in Preparation)
The CCEA Journal, which is currently still under development, is intended to serve as an international open-access platform for critical education, research and practice on antisemitism. It is intended to reach academics, teachers and education professionals, to highlight findings, to strengthen dialogue and to provide a space for academic articles, practice-oriented materials and discussions on institutional responsibility.
In this way, the journal will contribute to the sustainable development of critical education on antisemitism in various contexts and highlight its practical implementation.
